HIGHLIGHTED PROJECTS

  • Technical: 150.000-word project into Spanish of a whole training course in Flash for the employees and managers of a renowned US rental company of machinery and tools for the construction industry.
  • In charge of the management and proofreading of a 230.000-word project (within a term of 30 days) consisting of the translation into Spanish of a number of instruction manuals of different software applications. This task involved the coordination and proofreading of the work of up to eight translators.
  • User Manuals: Translation of several user manuals of air conditioners, cellular phones, printers, DVDs, digital cameras, paper shredders and a wide rage of household and office appliances and electronic devises.
  • Cosmetics: Translated over 500.000 words over the last seven years of material for beauty advisors working and sellers of a major beauty brand in the cosmetics field concerning makeup, skin care and fragrances.
  • Marketing materials:Large on-going project for several multi-level marketing companies for products such as bioactive beverages as well as beauty and personal care products, teas, food products and dietary supplements. I have translated over 677.000 words over the last ten years of dedication to this industry including websites, emails, brochures, booklets, labels, manuals and instructions.
  • Training material:Translations for the internal use of a multinational consumer goods company related to foods, cleaning agents and personal care products. The project consisted of several powerpoint presentations and documents for instructors and guides and sheets for employees. This translation was done with the aid of a very large Translation Memory and consisted mainly in updating the translation to the new version of the files.
  • Accident Prevention & Safety: in charge of a 60.000-word project for an American multinational conglomerate corporation that operates on the energy, technology and infrastructure segments. The project consisted of the translation and final linguistic proofreading of .xml, .html, .doc, .ppt files related to safety concerns, near miss examples, hazard assessment charts, handling of hazardous materials, etc.
  • Education: 300-page brochures on career opportunities, career trends and jobs in demand in a State of the US.Special Education Support Systems. Brochure for parents of children with disabilities explaining the processes, evaluations and services available for their children including the procedural safeguards available to them.Activities guide on careers choices.
  • Health Care: Brochure on nutrition and dietetics issued by a group of hospitals in the US.Bulletins providing advice to patients on several issues: breast cancer, tobacco, alcohol awareness, blood pressure, colon cancer, hepatitis C, congestive heart failure, prostate cancer, flu and pneumonia, diabetes, depression, etc.Brochure advising patients on a variety of options of Medicaid and Long-Term Care Services for Adults.Privacy Practices Notices and In Patient Guides of several US hospitals.Brochure advertising monitoring devices for hospitals.Storyboard – diabetes (key points, symptoms, classification, diagnostic criteria, risk factors, etc.)
  • Elections material: Large on-going project into Spanish of several documents, letters and instructions to be used during the 2003-2012 elections in the US, such as: Instructions to voters, candidate’s statements, applications, arguments for and against measures proposed, voting rights and obligations, requirements, oaths of absentee voters, speeches, messages to citizens, etc.
