Dr. Wright- Spoke about a function that was happening on campus that had not been brought to the attention of the student body at LASC. It was a charity Basketball Game with NBA players. This event will take place on campus on Sunday November 27, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. in the gym. Dr. Wright stated there should never be an event on campus without ASO being advised and asked to be a part of it. She found out about this event over the week from her child. This event was not advertised on campus until a message was sent via email on Tuesday about the activity. Dr. Wright asked how could her child in the city of Corona find out about a campus event before our LASC student body? She stated that our student body could have greatly enjoyed this type of event if they were informed about it in a timely manner. For example, ASO students could have been provided with free or reduced rate tickets for this event. She sent a series of questions to the Facilities Committee about this event and has not received a response. D’Joy expressed disappointment this was not addressed in a timely manner with the campus. She felt the campus had disrespected the students. D’joy and Luciano will attend the Facility Committee meeting on Wednesday to inquire about this event.

Wesley Bucknor- asked about how things are going with the request he made for funds for Disabled Students Service Program which includes an ink cartridge and paper. Ms. D’Joy said there will be a Bar B Que fundraiser that will take place December 8, 2011 for the D.S.P.S to raise funds for the Ink Cartridge that is needed.

Victor May- Introduced himself to board and the position he is applying for. He said he is applying for the ASO Administrative Vice President position.

Coffey Baldwin- Re- introduced herself to the board and the commissioner position for which she is applying.

Dean Cobian-Spoke about a fundraising idea he had in mind. His idea was Chiles Restaurant Fundraiser. They provide 10% of all sales to the organization. Someone also recommended Shakey’s Pizza. He also said we would have to call to get further details. Almaz Pickens, also brought up a fundraising idea to the board regarding Hometown Buffet tickets. Ms’ D’Joy made a motion that the ASO Board purchase at least 100 tickets in regards to Almaz’s idea of the fundraiser, Adrianne Morris Second that Motion. This will be moved as an action item.
