Manufacturing Cell Manager – Recruitment brief

Job title: Manufacturing Cell Manager

Responsible to: Operations Director

Poised for further growth, and investment, we are now seeking to recruit two Cell Managers who will help deliver unrivalled levels of excellence. You will be providing strong and robust daily management to the manufacturing cell teams. We are looking for experienced people managers who will organise work and staff on a daily basis to ensure the smooth running of their cell, whilst also developing and implementing on-going process and staff development strategies.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develops confident and competent people, empowers and motivates individuals and teams to accomplish results
  • Team building, job training, multi-skilling, cultural development
  • Ensures that others understand their roles, objectives and how they contribute to the teams’ performance
  • Provide accurate and timely management reports
  • Aligns and co-ordinates work plans to achieve organisation objectives
  • Production volumes, Efficiencies, Yields, Costs
  • Working with QA/RA to ensure constant state of audit readiness
  • Service – Optimisation of stock coverage / turnover
  • Allocates resources to balance competing demands
  • Staffing and Equipment readiness (calibration, setup)
  • Embraces new products, ideas and methods; views situation from multiple perspectives
  • Has knowledge of and can use advanced problem solving techniques
  • Leads project teams to resolve issues
  • Drives and leads change; integrates new ideas and solutions to produce new products, processes or services
  • Adoption of Lean manufacturing principles
  • Develops policies and standards
  • Adherence to cGMP, H&S and Regulatory standards

Skills and Experience:

  • Manufacturing management experience is essential
  • Experience working in healthcare/medical devices industry (cGMP) would be desirable
  • Working within Quality Management System, and Change Control
  • Strong people management and staff development
  • Leadership/Management training would be of benefit
  • Educated to Degree level in engineering, biological sciences, physical sciences or a related field - desirable.
