Mantis Minerals Reports Completion of VTEM Survey and Preliminary Results on the Rottenstone Project

TORONTO, May 27, 2008, / CNW / - Mantis Mineral Corp. (“Mantis” – CNQ “MINE”)Mantis Mineral Corp. is extremely pleased to announce the completion of the airborne VTEM survey over its Rottenstone Nickel-PGE property. Preliminary results of the airborne data indicate that over 500-conductors exist on the 13,364 –hectare property.

This high density of conductors will require further post processing of the data to filter out the low priority conductors and rate the high priority targets.

Dr. Larry Hulbert former geologist with the Geological Survey of Canada, and highly knowledgeable on the geology of the Rottenstone Domain has been retained as expert consultant. Mark Shore a specialist on geophysical interpretation of conductors targeting nickel sulphides will work alongside Mr. Hulbert to generate a drill target map.

The Rottenstone deposit was mined in the mid sixties by open pit method. A total of 40,000 tons of material averaging 3.28% nickel, 1.83% copper and 9.64 g/t PGE in grade was extracted. While the assays herein reported are of a historical nature and do not conform to National Instrument 43-101 they are generally considered reliable according to local industry standards. Significantly, the feeder system to this deposit and tapping a possibly larger system has not been located. The goal of the current program is to identify the conductors that may be associated with this possibility for drill testing.

Commented Robin Ross, Chairman and CEO; “We are extremely encouraged by the number of conductors. Our geological/geophysical team will prioritize those conductors with a geophysical signature that exhibit the best fit with the geological model that corresponds to a large ultramafic intrusive body and feeder system at depth. A drill program testing these conductors will follow. This is just another example of one of the many quality projects under Mantis’ roof and one which will drive shareholder value.”
