9.30 am The role of social media in medical education (CPD Code 1H02)

Professor Simon Carley, Consultant in Emergency Medicine, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS FT

·  Social media is revolutionising medical education around the world with emergency medicine, critical care and anaesthesia at the forefront of change. This talk will discuss how online learning using social platforms can allow more efficient, learner focused education in medicine. We will flip the classroom, bring back Maslow’s love and find time to maintain that spark of enthusiasm that first made you want to practice medicine. Explore the unknown unknowns and engage in a bit of spaced repetition. Bring your smart phones (buy a smart phone) and slurp some #FOAMed.

Of course if little in the paragraph makes sense, then you really do need to come and listen.
