Jen and Mike will guide developers, contractors and engineers through the requirements of planning authorities and government organisations with regard to biodiversity and invasive weeds issues in England.
1st session – Jen will run through the pitfalls for developers and contractors alike, the costs of non compliance, and the simple things you can do to eliminate or reduce the risk of legal compliance, delays to programme and costs to projects affected by ecology based risks. The talk will focus on changes to legislation, safeguarding protected species and recent changes to key ecological guidance documents.
2nd session – Mike will run through what is Japanese knotweed and learn how to identify throughout the seasons; Why it is a problem and the impacts it has. The legislation surrounding Japanese knotweed, including proposed changes to the law.Regulations relating to removal to licensed landfill and onsite burial.Methods of eradication, tailored solutions and aftercare monitoring including some relevant case studies.
This represents a valuable insight into the need for effective risk management at the earliest stages of your development, irrespective of whether you are the developer, principal contractor or client.
