Action Against Hunger (ACF-UK) is looking for a dynamic and pro-active corporate fundraising manager to provide maternity cover for an initial 6 month contract. An experienced fundraiser and team player, you will join our lovely and passionate team committed to ending child hunger and be able to demonstrate initiative, project management skills and experience with employee fundraising.
Whilst expected to provide cover for the entire role, your key responsibilities during the contract will be:
  • managing one direct report (paid staff member) and at least one volunteer
  • managing partnerships across all areas of corporate fundraising, including cause-related marketing in light of Action Against Hunger’s successful ‘Love Food Give Food’ initiative and a particular focus on managing a new large scale national charity of the year.
  • nurturing relationships with existing supporters to maximise financial and in-kind support, as well as developing new innovative partnerships with corporates.
  • leading on securing and providing programme related updates for Corporate Partners providing restricted funding and actively contribute to the development of the new strategy to grow this area of fundraising exponentially in the year ahead.

To develop and implement ACF-UK’s corporate account management strategy and plan of action
To be responsible for ACF-UK’s corporate budget (both income and expenditure) from existing corporate partners, with a significant income growth target
To manage one direct report (paid staff member) and at least one volunteer
To account manage Action Against Hunger’s corporate partnerships, with a particular focus on restaurant chains, companies supporting the ‘Love Food Give Food’ initiative and a major new nationwide supporter
To ensure that all existing partnerships are receiving a high standard of account management, maximizing all opportunities to raise further funds and awareness of the charity
To be responsible for producing detailed, regular reports for our restricted donors, working closely with other departments and international colleagues to ensure accurate project information is collected
To play a major role in developing a new restricted fundraising strategy targeting corporate foundations and trusts that will be implemented in 2015
To be responsible for ensuring that Action Against Hunger is operating within the law both in terms of trading activities (e.g. drawing up agreements, confirming correct wording for CRM activity, confirming when VAT to be applied to donations for commercial activity) and data protection laws (safeguarding sensitive customer information) so that ACF is perceived as a compliant, professional and trustworthy organization
To support the Head of Corporate Partnerships on a daily basis and the Director of Fundraising and Communications as required and to work with other members of the senior fundraising team and colleagues in other ACF head offices to maximize fundraising opportunities

Person Specification
Qualifications/education required
Essential:
  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience gained

Desirable:
  • A degree in marketing or business management
  • A qualification in fundraising or marketing

Experiencerequired
Essential:
  • Experience of managinglarge corporate partnerships, particularly employee fundraising,ideally across multiple sites, e.g. Tesco charity of the year
  • Experience ofbudget management, demonstrable numerical skills and the achievement of ambitious financial targets
  • Experience in defining and articulating strategies and policies
  • Experience of managing staff
  • Knowledge of legal requirements related to trading activities (e.g. drawing up legal agreements, confirming correct wording for CRM activity, confirming when VAT to be applied to donations for commercial activity) and data protection laws
  • Demonstrable ability to understand and analyse business economy and what drives corporate behaviour
  • Experience of negotiating with and influencing key high level decision makers
  • Experience of being an ambassador for an organisation and presenting its work to different audiences, including large groups of staff or customers
  • Experience of writing high quality, tailored reports and proposals for a corporate audience
  • Confidence in using technology for fundraising including but not limited to supporter database (e.g. Raisers Edge), website content and e-newsletter management software
