Overview:

SolarCity is searching for a dynamic finance professional to join as the Manager of SOX Compliance for a newly created role within the Internal Audit department. The SOX Manager will report to the Director of Internal Audit and will be responsible for executing on the day to day function of the SOX program. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience directly managing SOX projects.
Responsibilities:

·  Manage the Company’s SOX compliance program

·  Partner with the process owners and provide guidance around compliance and implementation of controls

·  Responsible for monitoring and testing of internal controls, identifying the impact of potential issues, recommend remediation activities to management, and evaluate and conclude on control assessments

·  Build a partnership with the finance and operations team to ensure proper SOX documentation and compliance

·  Build relationships with IT and other departments to understand and assess the impact of new systems and changes to existing processes and systems

·  Work closely with the business to assess the impact of process changes on the control environment, identify risk areas, and implement appropriate changes to the overall SOX compliance program

·  Identify process improvement opportunities, communicate best practices at a high level and develop programs to strengthen internal control and compliance environment

·  Communicate with external auditors on SOX matters

·  Assist with special projects as required


Requirements:

·  A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (or equivalent education and work experience) required

·  CPA or CIA with experience in large public accounting firm required. Big 4 experience preferred not required

·  Minimum of 8-10 years relevant work experience in public accounting and/or public multinational high-tech companies

·  Excellent knowledge and understanding of GAAP principles

·  Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others

·  Attention to detail and accuracy

·  Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

·  Motivated self-starter who enjoys collaborating with people with a diverse set of talents, in a dynamic fast-paced environment

·  Ability to work independently, with general direction and guidance

·  Collaborative team player


Travel:

·  10%-15% Travel - domestic and some international travel
