Making the state clean from plastic waste and creating job opportunities for youths in “LEDA JARI” program

The long devastating effects of handling the refuse disposal has been a worrisome in my state, it has even reach a level where even the government cannot handle separately, there is an outmost need for the intervention of other people from everywhere to collaborate and support the government effort in making our environment clean and free from plastic waste. This is a general contribution from every well-wishing citizen of Kano, state Nigeria.

Generation of refuse is on daily basis from every individual, but our governments do not give much attention and consideration in effective and modern refuse management system talk less of plastic waste in specific which has a devastating effect in the lives of not only human beings but marine organisms which in turn become a toxic to the whole society.

Some of these refuse need more attention (Plastic waste to be specific) as they can be recycled and get back into the society efficiently and continuously without harming any living organism but because of the politics in play and other reasons best known by the government, the government leaves and abandons most of the activities pertaining the proper and modern management of refuse.

Our governments are always yelling of poverty, high rate of insecurity, illiteracy, number of jobless is on rise which can all be minimised and reduced to the minimal level since job opportunities can be created through adopting strategies of proper and modern recycling of plastic waste.

The youths need to be enlightened and guided to the proposed program named “ LedaJari”, (that is Plastic waste is a capital), in which unemployed youths will be registered and linked to a company so that every time they can go round the street and houses in search of plastic waste, collect and bring back to the company for recycle and based on the number of kilos you will be paid either monthly or weekly.

I am sure this will reduce the unemployment in the society and getting the environment clean and rid from plastic waste and its negative consequences. It will also serve as opportunities for private sector to boost the economy of the state as more and more work they do and more and more employment processes will be on.
