What is PIP?
PIP is the UK Government benefit for people aged 16 to 64 who have a disability, long-term health condition and face difficulties with ‘daily living’ or getting around that are likely to last for 12 months or more.
It will replace Disability Living Allowance (DLA) but more people will qualify for PIP than DLA.

*Veterans First Point Grampian / A successful social enterprise working to help people build confidence and develop their skills and talents to make major changes in their lives. Provides accommodation with support to former homeless and at risk young people. Delivers linked up services – education, training, mentoring, counselling, employment support and health improvement initiatives to people of all ages.
This service is available to older people, people with a disability or long term condition living within Aberdeen City. We are a voluntary organisation providing free advice and technical repairs, improvements and adaptations in the home. A handyman service is also available (at a charge). Fully qualified trades people can carry out small repairs to the property. We also provide a grass cutting service.
Who is eligible?
Owner occupiers and tenants of private landlords living in Aberdeen.
Cruse Bereavement Care offers support to people who have experienced the loss of someone close.
A free, confidential and personal service to help anyone in Aberdeen living with dementia to live safely in their home for longer.
A safety assessment of the home can be carried out and dementia enablement equipment provided where necessary.
Home Energy Scotland, funded by Scottish Government, offers free and impartial advice on reducing fuel bills and saving energy in the home.
A voluntary organisation providing emotional and practical support for families who have at least one child under the age of 5. Highly trained staff and volunteers visit families in their own homes to offer support. In addition we also offer a weekly term time family group, a “Recipe for Life”project promoting healthy eating, teaching practical cooking skills and Baby Massage. The support is free, confidential and non-judgemental.
Veterans First Point Scotland (V1P) contributes to the aims of the armed forces covenant by improving access to health care for veterans and their families.
