Make Sure You’re Getting Your Bonuses

Simple way to log into MITS (Member Information Technology System)

1.  Click on Information Portal Icon on station computer.

2.  Click on MITS Link on top of the Information Portal Homepage.

3.  If you have never logged onto MITS you will need to log in and then set your new password.

-  Username: 3 letter initial of your name and last four digits of your Social Security Number (e.g. ABC1234)

-  Password: Default password is your social security number (SSN) without hyphens (e.g. 123456789). The system will prompt you to change your password once you log in. The new password must be different than your SSN.

-  If Username and Password do not work click on “Reset Password” Bar and follow the instructions.

Once logged into MITS you can check your Bonuses and Update Contact Information

1.  For 1% Education Bonus you should see: FireEd1 (1)

2.  For 3% Education Bonus you should see: FireEd3 (3)

3.  If you do not see either of these in the Bonus Section of your Member Information then you are not being paid your education bonus and need to summit an education bonus form letter.

How to find the Education Bonus Form Letter

1.  On you’re station computer log into LAFD Information Portal

2.  In the Search the Site Box type (Application for Education Bonus)

3.  Click on the Application for Education Bonus Link

4.  Fill Out Education Bonus Application F-225 on Red Letterhead

5.  Gray mail or hand deliver to Personnel Services Section your Education Bonus Application F-225 and your sealed transcripts.
