Job Title: /Major Giving Manager (Individuals, Corporations, Trust)
Responsible to: / Head of FundraisingDirect Reports / Corporate Fundraiser and Trusts & Foundation Fundraiser
Location: / Based at Head Office in Saunderton, Buckinghamshire
Hours: / 35 hours per week including some evening and weekends
Main Purpose: / Responsible for leading, co-ordinating, and implementing a coherent strategy for developing major gifts from high net worth individuals, and managing the Corporate and Trusts & Foundation Fundraisers in developing their income streams and meeting their targets.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
STRATEGIC
1.Head the development and implementation of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People’s Major Donor, Corporate and Trusts strategies, within the framework of a wider integrated fundraising strategy.
- Contribute to the creationand achievement of the Departmental income and expenditure budget and associated targets.
- To establish and communicate organisation-wide best practices in managing prospective donors (individuals, trusts and corporates).
- To produce a rolling plan identifying how targets will be achieved and to provide regular progress reports for the Head of Fundraising.
- To identify potential major donors, utilising organisational contacts and networks, relevant research tools and personal knowledge.
- To develop and work with the Head of Fundraising and Head of Communications on prestigious and creative major donor events (recruitment, solicitation and reciprocation), ensuring that each event meets its objectives within agreed budgets.
- To create, develop and implement individual donor development plans for generating agreed annual fundraising targets and engaging the most appropriate member of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People staff or Trustee.
- To produce, maintain and develop a donor care programme to enable a growth in opportunities within each account.
- To maintain income forecasts by predicting the level of financial support expected from every prospect.
- Manage, support and develop the Corporate and Trust fundraisers to ensure their agreed programs and targets are achieved.
OPERATIONAL
- To maintain a good working relationship with Directorsand Regional Fundraisers to facilitate proposal development and arrange visits by donors.
- To develop, manage and maintain accurate systems for recording all major gifts activity.
- To comply with the Progress database procedures and ensure that barometers and donor tables are kept up-to-date.
- To ensure gifts are collected, promptly acknowledged and recorded.
- Review and assess all completed major donor campaigns to improve the next ones.
- To provide progress reports and other regular campaign updates.
- In conjunction with the CommunicationsDepartment, to maximise opportunities to strengthen profile through major donor events involving media, celebrities and public figures.
GENERAL

2.To travel on a regular basis, as required, e.g. presentations, meetings & training.
- To preserve any information to which you are privy in your role as confidential.
- To complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
- To be Deaf aware. Undergoing training to a set level of deaf awareness and communication as required by the Charity.
- To be able to talk knowledgeably and enthusiastically about our work.
- To attend and contribute to relevant national and regional fundraising meetings and training events as required.
- To carry out other duties as required to maximise major gift fundraising.
- To ensure that all fundraising and communications procedures are followed in line with Hearing Dogs for Deaf People’s expectations.
- As a charity, Hearing Dogs has a large network of volunteers based at both our training centre’s and spread nationwide. As such, you may be involved in working with and/or supervising volunteers in this role.
- To undergo training to a set level of deaf awareness and communication as required by the charity.
- To assist with other tasks and training which the Deputy Chief Executive, or their delegate, may reasonably request.

For operational reasons, the Charity reserves the right to transfer you to alternative duties. For this reason it is a condition of employment that you are willing to do so, if requested, from time to time.
