Functional Area: Personnel Administration / Maintain Tenure Information
Purpose
Use this procedure to update tenure Infotype information.
Trigger
Perform this procedure when tenure Infotype needs to be updated or created initially.
Prerequisites
None
Menu Path
Use the following menu path to begin this transaction:
- Select Human ResourcesPersonnel ManagementAdministrationHR Master DataMaintain to go to the Maintain HR Master Data(UC Basic Personnel Data tab) screen.

Business Process Information
This action is performed to create, change, or update the tenure infotype. The departments update some tenure information through the portal.
Helpful Hints
- The R/O/C column in the field description tables below defines whether the field is required (R), optional (O), or conditional (C).
- On certain screens you may have to scroll to view some data entry fields.
- There are various system warning messages that may appear depending on the employee being processed. Review the messages and click to acknowledge and bypass the messages.

Procedure
1. / Start the transaction using the menu path or transaction code.
Maintain HR Master Data (UC Basic Personnel Data tab)
2. / As required, complete/review the following fields:
Field / R/O/C / Description
Person ID / Required / Unique Employee Identification number
Example:
10000237
3. / Click .
Maintain HR Master Data (UC Basic Personnel Data tab) (2)
4. / Perform one of the following:
If the / Then
Pers.Assgn field is white (open for input) / 1. Click the drop-down icon to view the employee’s personnel assignments.
2. Select the personnel assignment to be processed.
Pers.Assgn field is grayed out (display only) / --
/ The employee’s information is now displayed on the screen. Infotypes created for the employee have a displayed to the right of the Infotype text field.
/ You can click the Personnel Assignment Overviewicon to display all of the personnel assignments associated with this employee.
5. / As required, complete/review the following fields:
Field / R/O/C / Description
Infotype / Required / Screen(s) in SAP HR that store HR data; Identified by a name and four-digit number
Example:
9002
You can also enter the infotype name (Tenureinfotype).
6. / Perform one of the following:
If You Want To / Then / Go To
Create or change tenure information / Click .
Do not use the change icon to make updates to the record. Change history must be maintained. / Step 7
Delimit (Stop) the tenure information / Click . / Step 11
Create Tenure Infotype (9002)
7. / As required, complete/review the following fields:
Field / R/O/C / Description
Start / Required / Date and/or time when operation commences
Example:
03/01/2006
Tenure Effective Date / Required / Effective date of an employee's tenure status
Example:
03/01/2006
Tenure Eligibility Status / Required / Indicates that an employee is eligible for tenure
Example:

/ Other fields on this screen will be maintained by the respective departments using the portal.
8. / Click .
Create Tenure Infotype (9002) (2)
9. / Click .
/ The system displays the message, “Save your entries.”
10. / Go to Step 16.
Enter Delimitation Date
11. / As required, complete/review the following fields:

Delimit.Date / Required / Stop date of the info type action
Example:
02/28/2006
This field defaults to the current date but can be changed.
12. / Click .

13. / Click .
Delimit Tenure Infotype (9002)
14. / Click to the left of the tenure information to delimit.
15. / Click .
Maintain HR Master Data (UC Basic Personnel Data tab) (3)
16. / Click until you return to the SAP Easy Access screen.
/ The system displays the message, “Record created” if you are creating or changing tenure information. The system displays the message, “Records delimited” if you are delimiting (stopping) tenure information.
17. / You have completed this transaction.
