Mission Statement
Knowledge Education & You Homeschool Association is also known as KEY Homeschool Association. We seek to promote home education by providing information and vital resources to all area homeschoolers. We have the right to homeschool according to Louisiana law.
KEY Homeschool Association Inc. welcomes all families into our Association, who are willing to follow our guidelines. We are a non-denominational, non-profit service association and our actions speak as our faith. We do not discriminate. However, we encourage traditional family morals
in front of all members of this association. All families are welcome! We encourage all members to be respectful of each other's differences.
FIELD TRIP DISCLAIMER
Additional fees may be collected for field trips, classes, and other activities KEY HOMESCHOOL ASSOCIATION Inc. provides. Some field trip will require payment in advance, which may be non-refundable. Members should realize that in the State of Louisiana grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc., is not recognized as legal guardians. If your child were injured, they cannot give permission to treat the child. Members may consider giving permission, for those persons who are caring for their children, by notarizing a statement from the parent stating that said persons have permission to authorize medical use. This is a safety precaution for your children. Board Members, Director, and Incorporates shall not be held liable for any injuries or deaths resulting from any field trip or any function you, your family, or anyone included in your party participate in. Parental supervision is required at all events and functions of KEY HOMESCHOOL ASSOCATION INC.

RE: SIGNING UP FOR MONTHLY ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND FIELD TRIPS
There is an ongoing problem with some members signing up for monthly activities, events and field trips and not showing up. This was overlooked in the past, but has become an issue now.
The main reasons we ask members to sign up for monthly activities, events and field trips is for numerous reasons, which include:
1. An accurate headcount - Many places we visit require a certain amount of people to attend in order to receive a discount price. Not showing up causes the rest of the members to absorb the cost or in canceling the activity altogether.
2. In the event of scheduled activities that take place at monthly meetings – a great deal of preparations go into the planning and execution of such activities. It becomes costly to the group to print out certificates and put together gift bags for members to not show up. We, the members of the Board certainly do not want to exclude anyone, but at the same time, it’s a waste of our time and resources when a member does not show up.
3. It may also lead to members who sign up for activities or events not receiving a refund of monies collected prior to the scheduled activities. There are some cases where money needs to be paid in full prior to a scheduled activity or event. There are also some cases where once monies have been paid, a refund is not able to be made and the member loses out.
4. Lastly, calling to say that you are coming to an event that involves gifts or certificates for children causes an undue hardship to the board members as they try to include all the children. Such late notice may cause the child/children to receive awards/gifts at a later date.
If, for some reason, you sign up for a monthly activity, event or field trip and are unable to make it, please extend the courtesy of calling, or sending an e-mail to any of the Board Members and let them know you cannot make it.
Each member of this group plays an important part of this group, and we can only succeed as leaders of this group if each member complies with the following proposal.
As a means of protecting the members of this group, we, the Board of Director’s of KEY is making the following proposal:
If you are a member who typically signs up for monthly activities, events and field trips and routinely does not show up or call in advance to cancel for 2 or more scheduled events, your name will not be counted on the list, and you will only be allowed to participate in monthly activities, events and field trips that you have paid for in advance. Or, if in the future, you abide by calling in advance to confirm that you or your child will attend the scheduled events. Also, last minute participation may result in your child/children not having items that may be handed out to the other children.
