Welcome to Civitan!
As a new member of Civitan, there are many new and exciting opportunities ahead of you . . . opportunities to make a difference in your community, develop leadership skills, and make long and lasting friendships. Your involvement as a new member is essential to your club, your district, and Civitan International since new members are truly the lifeline of our organization.
Civitan International has designed the VIP program especially for you. As you participate in this program, you will become involved in the various aspects of our organization, gaining knowledge of fundraising events, community projects, district meetings, and much more. Becoming a VIP will give you a head start as a new Civitan member. Civitan International will also recognize you for your efforts after being notified you have completed the program. It’s simple, but very important.
How the Program Works:
There are five categories in which you as a VIP candidate can earn points as shown on the VIP scorecard. You have one year to complete the program and must earn a minimum of 200 points from at least three categories. Once you have earned at least 200 points, ask your club president to sign the scorecard to show that you have completed the activity standards. Then mail the scorecard to Civitan International, VIP Award Program, P. O. Box 130744, Birmingham, AL35213-0744. When the scorecard is received, your VIP pin and certificate will be mailed to the club president. The club president should sign the certificate and present the certificate and pin to you at the next club meeting.
As a new member, we encourage you to get involved in the VIP program today. By becoming a Very Important Part of Civitan, you can truly make a difference.
