I know that running a road race or participating in a walk is potentially a hazardous activity. I should not enter and run or walk unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relating to my ability to safely complete the run/walk. I assume all the risks associated with running/walking in this event including, but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the roads, all these risks being known to me and appreciated by me. Having read the preceding and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself, and anyone entitled to act on my behalf waive and release the Town of Madrid, the Town of Madrid Youth Commission, the Madrid Bluegrass River Festival and the organizers, workers and volunteers and all sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named and described in this waiver.

SPECIAL NOTICE: Due to construction at the traditional start location, race registration and start and finish will be at the Madrid Library again in 2010. The Library is on the other side of the river from the Festival Grounds, across from the Fire Station, on Church Street in Madrid.

PACKET PICKUP AND REGISTRATION: RACEDAY, beginning at 7:00 AM at the Madrid Hepburn Library

The course for the 10K and 5K is on paved streets with some hills. The 21K course is mostly on paved, rural roads but includes about 1.75 miles of dirt road with an uneven surface. The course is mostly flat with gently rolling hills including one significant uphill at mile 10, or so, before finishing downhill.

Finishers receive reduced price admission to the Bluegrass Festival on Race Day.
