Mr. M. Frank Rudy, a 1943 graduate of Fairview High School, and his wife, Margie Domiter Rudy, established a $3,000,000 endowment fund to benefit students and teachers of the Fairview Park Schools. The funds were invested to create perpetual scholarships.

Mr. Rudy was always thankful for the solid start in life afforded him in Fairview Park and wanted to “give back” to the public schools, which prepared him for a successful life as an engineer and inventor. Mr. Rudy was Corporate Director of North American Rockwell. He worked on the Saturn/Apollo Rocket Engines and was the inventor of the “Nike-Air” Cushioned System for athletic shoes.

Mr. and Mrs. Rudy had always hoped that the Endowment Fund would re-kindle the spirit of fun, optimism and excitement for the future that characterized their youth. The amount of the awards has not been determined, but is likely to be upward of $10,000. To be eligible, a student must commit to pursue undergraduate studies in the sciences or technology.

Recommendation

Ask a teacher or administrator to write a recommendation letter on your behalf. Please include it along with your completed application.

Transcript

Obtain a certified copy of your high school transcript with your courses for the first semester of the 12th grade indicated, and staple it to the back of the application, following your essay. Ensure that your SAT or ACT scores are included with the transcript, or attach a copy of the official test result report. Have your guidance counselor include a high school profile.
