Dr.Maurice Hart Memorial Scholarship

Application Deadline: April 30, 2018

The Dr. Maurice Hart Memorial Scholarship was established to recognize high school seniors and GED recipients with outstanding leadership ability and excellent scholastic achievement. This scholarship is awarded annually in June with the hope of encouraging students to pursue a postsecondary education and thereby realize their potential as future Christian leaders of society. This is a merit based, competitive award.

Scholarship Conditions

Recipients of the ENWC scholarship may use the award to attend the university, college or postsecondary school of his/her choice. Scholarships are not limited to any specific field or career objective and may be used to pursue any academic discipline. Students may use the scholarship to cover the costs of tuition, fees, books, room and board, computers, and other college-related expenses.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Regular attendance at Eagle’s Nest Worship Center for at least six months
  2. Graduation from high school (or GED program)this academic year, 2017-2018)
  3. Evidence of acceptance into a postsecondary school
  4. Demonstrated high academic achievement
  5. Evidence of leadership potential

Required Contents of Your Application Package

  • Completed form (p.3)
  • Achievement Resume (see instructions pp.4-5)
  • 3 separate essays (see p.2)
  • Official transcripts (high school; colleges; GED, etc.)
  • ACT/SAT/Compassor other college entrance test scores
  • College/trade school acceptance letter (or other evidence of enrollment)
  • Three reference letters
  • Recent photo of applicant (passport or school yearbookformat)

Three Reference Letters

  • Must be written by an adult who is at least 21 years old (exclude relatives)
  • Person should supply information about you that will aid us in our selection process (your character, academic potential; community service, etc.)
  • One letter must be written by an ENWC ministry leader
  • One letter must be written by a school staff member

Official Transcript of Grades/Test Scores

  • Must show cumulative grade point average including this school year
  • Must have an official signature and/or school seal
  • Make sure your most recent ACT/SAT or other test scores are recorded on yourofficial transcript (see the registrar at your school)

ESSAY WRITING CRITERIA

Please write 3 separate essays in response to the prompts given below. Use a separate sheet of paper for each essay prompt. (DO NOT COMBINE ESSAYS ON THE SAME SHEET OF PAPER) Your essays must be typed using 12-point typeface, simple font, and double-spaced. Each essay must be 150-175 words in length. Make sure you follow these guidelines so youwill not lose points.

Essay Prompt #1: Discuss the most memorable lessons you learned during your four years of high school.

Essay Prompt #2: How do you perceive the roles of women as having changed over the last few decades?

Essay Prompt #3: Who is Jesus to you?
