Paul MacGregor called the meeting to order at 7:40pm.
· Roll Call (attendance)/Visitors
· Review of Minutes from Last Meeting
o The board approved the minutes from January 25th and February 16th minutes.
· League Coordinators
o TBall – Tyler Gray estimates 8-10 teams. A few requests for players that are between 1 week and a few months older than the limit. Exact limit to be determined once Tyler understands the number of coaches.
o Baseball Rookie – Mike Gearty; teams will be finalized tonight; eight teams of 9 players. Two coaches need to be CORI’ed
o Baseball Minors – Larry Frisoli 4 teams. Some of the unknown is regarding unpaid registrants some of which could be scholarship. This is due by March 9th. Larry Frisoli has agreed to contact these and will follow up with Ivan Pagacik.
o Majors 60 – Ed McCarthy estimates 4 teams. His list of coaches is qualified.
o Major 70 – Paul Macgregor estimates he will have two teams. Three have dropped off because of either moving up or dropping out of the league.
o Rookie SB – Ron Cochran has enough for 4 teams of 6 but is hoping to have 4 of 7 (4 of 8 would be better). Discussion centered on bringing up 4 of the oldest girls registered for TBall. Jen Barlow will provide Ron with those names and Ron will contact the parents.
o Minor SB – Rob Warner announced 39 kids are signed up which will get 4 teams. List of coaches have been forwarded.
o Major SB – Bernie Lane estimated close to 30 girls. He is hoping to get a few more for 3 teams of 11. He could look to calling up or choosing alternates.
o Senior SB – 14 girls are listed but Bernie needs to find out if they will play regardless of whether they will make the school team.
· Jet Field/Pod Update
o Ivan has received approval to set a pod at Jet Field.
· Registration Update
o Fran Richard estimates registration is down about 6% (25) from last year.
o Unpaids are down from last year.
· Approved volunteers / Open Positions
o Field Scheduler – Jen Regan
o Softball Umpire Coordinator – Brook Moore
· Evaluations
o LHS on March 13th and 19th.
o Baseball – March 13th from 8-1-2:30pm for 9 y-o; 2:45-4:15pm for 10 y-o; 4:30-6pm for 11 and 12 y-o; March 19th from 8-10am for Rookie; Make-up from 10-11:30am.
o Softball – March 19th noon-6pm. Rookie noon-2pm; Minors 2-4pm; Majors 4-6pm. The clinic and evaluations will be held concurrently.
o Email blast will be sent out to baseball and softball. Paul M. will draft the baseball email and will provide it to Jen Barlow. Bernie Lane will provide a draft for softball. Jen Barlow will send out the emails Friday, March 11th.
o Paul M. proposed a new set of evaluation stations for 11 and 12 y-o’s. Three stations: pitching, hitting, groundball/throw and catch. No run and throw.
· Treasurer’s Report (Tom Furlong)
o No change from previous meeting.
· Sponsorship
o Chuck Decoste and Tom Furlong will meet Friday, March 4th to put together the strategy.
· Calendar
o Paul M. suggested adding a coach evaluation day in early June. Coordinators get their coaches together for this. Paul M. will follow up with Ivan P.
· CORI
o Coordinators need to get HC and AC lists to Laura Dauphinais. Coaches can fill out the form on the eval dates.
· Coach Approval
o Discussed and approved. In addition if any more volunteers contact the coordinators their names will be distributed to the board and approval will occur via email. Below is a list of approved head coach (HC) and assistant coach (AC) candidates by league.

· Jordan Furniture “Play Ball” Program
o John Court proposed a collection for used baseball/softball equipment on the evaluation day for baseball (March 13th). Jordan Furniture sponsors this collection for distribution to inner-city Boston. Tom F. also suggested a shed clean-out. Email blast will be provided by John C.
o Will need barrels and boxes for collection. John C. will bring this.
· Varsity Softball use of E-scoreboard
o LYBS doesn’t use this except for tourneys.
o The board has agreed to let LHS v softball use this.
o Will be stored in the LHS softball shed.
o LYBS will re-evaluate the need for a second scoreboard later in the year.
· MAC League
o Bat restriction was lifted.
· Equipment – Shed
o Ten keys for shed behind Town Hall were made but not all are accounted for. Keys need to be collected and then re-distributed to coordinators and president.
· Equipment – Inventory
o Equipment was not collected from coaches last year. Need to ID coaches not involved this and collect from them.
o Chuck Decoste will be making a blanket order and existing equipment will be distributed.
· Equipment – Apparel
o Coordinators need to supply Chuck Decoste with team numbers for each league.
· Eagle Scout Project Update
o Scout has not responded. Chuck D. will contact one more time. If he does not respond another option will need to be reviewed.
· Coach Selection Issue
o A proposal was put forth that HC selection will also based on participation for other league business.
o Ed McCarthy has proposed a points-based system. This will be further reviewed and voted on for instituted next year (if approved). Ed M. will distribute this to the board.
o This will be discussed at the end of the year.
· New Business
o When are coaches selected and notified? Previously it has been prior to the evaluations. Volunteers will be asked to help out on evaluations by age of the child and appointments come after the evaluations.
