How do people identify YOU?

I John 1:1-3 Truth is embodied AS a person even as Eternal Life is embodied IN a person.

John 1:1 From the beginning….

“What we have heard” is in the perfect tense: Past completed action with a present result. (verb tenses give us greater understanding of the word and it’s meaning in the Greek)

“Word of Life” is Jesus.

The eternal life was with the Father: Jesus.

I John 2:3-5

2 John 1-2 Elder is John and the chosen lady knows who John is. The chosen lady and her children: was this a literal woman or was it a picture of the Christian community, the believers in that area, so her children would be the believers in that area?

John 14: 6

The book of Ephesians speaks of being In Christ.

2 John 3 Grace, mercy and peace will be with us from God the Father, and from Jesus Christ the Son of the Father, in truth and in love

If you are abiding and walking in truth and in love, you can have grace, mercy and peace.

Grace, mercy and peace will be with us if we are abiding in truth and love.

2 John

Walk in Truth Walk in love Watch yourself

I John 2:18 Children, it IS the last hour….the next event will be the return of Jesus Christ. Just as you heard that antichrist is coming EVEN NOW, many antichrists have appeared. By this we know….

Antichrist means “instead of”

I John 2:19They, antichrists, the deceivers….they were never Christians

If you possess Truth, you cannot walk away from Truth.

I John 2:20

2 John 4-6 Commandment: The Father commanded us to walk in Truth.

I Cor. 6, Eph. 5 Sin defined in the Old Testament is still sin in the New Testament.

2 John 6-8

Abide, dwell and live in the teaching of Jesus Christ: if you do not, you are not a Christian; you do not belong to God.

I Cor. 3:8, 14-15 Rewards: our works are judged

2 Cor. 5:10 We will ALL (Christians) stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ

John 4:36

Rev. 11:18 There is a reward for walking in the Truth: Faithfulness

Rev. 22:12My reward is with Me

2 John 8 Watch yourselves!

2 John 9 If anyone brings a different teaching, don’t receive them in your house: don’t give them a greeting.

Matt. 5:17“I did not come to abolish the Law but to fulfill it.”

2 John 9-10 Present imperative: Command to continue…

2 John 10-13

3 John Written to one individual: Gaius

3 John 1 Truth: if you love someone in truth you are going to be truthful and honest with that person. John loved Gaius in truth.

3 John 2-3 Walk in Truth

3 John 4-7 No greater joy than to hear of my children walking in truth

3 John 8 Fellow workers with the truth

3 John 9-10 Now he addresses the problem. Watch the words of someone. Diotrephes is the problem, and his words give evidence.

3 John 11 Learn. Watch. Are they a deceiver?

3 John 11-14 Demetrius is in contrast with Diotrephes.

If you walk in truth and love, you will not compromise.

Jesus is coming, His reward is with Him: be ready.
