Lube Technician (J-Team Service Standards+) Broadbase, Inc.
Job Summary:
As a Lube Technician, you are responsible for performing automotive services including store related tasks in afast-paced environment in accordance with company policies and procedures. Attention to detail is critical to produce quality workmanshipand to exceed customer expectations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
*Note*: Servicing vehicles is a collaborative effort; therefore, the lube technician may perform the duties of one or more of the following roles at any time. Each position includes, but not limited to, the following tasks:
- Execution and reinforcement of Operational Excellence – To deliver wow experiences that exceed expectations and create customers for life
- Displays professional image and sense of urgency
Comply with Broadbase Code of Conduct image and grooming standards
Supports Broadbase Mantra
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
Acknowledges customer within 10 seconds
Executes “5-foot rule”
Answers telephone within 3-rings and follows telephone standards
Executes “no handles policy”
- Greets customers using proper check-in, escort and lounge orientation procedures
Discusses Signature Service Oil Change and oil selection
Offers tire rotation
Obtains customer’s signature on initial estimate for authorization of work
- When acting as Courtesy Technician, (CT)
Complete computer based training and hands on proficiency examfor Courtesy Technician duties
Assists with report on conditions
Assists with tire rotation, if applicable
Vacuum interior floors
Clean exterior windows
Install/verify window sticker
- When acting as Upper Bay Technician, (UBT)
Complete computer based training and hands on proficiency examfor Upper Bay Technician duties
Assists with report on conditions
Assists with tire rotation, if applicable
Inspect key components
Inflate tires
Check and fill various fluids
Oversee the overall flow of assigned vehicle to increase throughput and efficiency
Assists Courtesy Technician, Lower Bay Technician and Customer Service Advisor as needed
Complete & forward invoice
Perform ancillary services
- When acting as Lower Bay Technician, (LBT)
Complete computer based trainingand hands on proficiency examfor Lower Bay Technician duties
Assists with report on conditions
Drain oil and replace oil filter
Check and fill all gearboxes
Lubricate chassis
Perform ancillary services
- J-Team Service Standards+(JTSS+) Adherence:
Meets J-Team Service Standards+ with no quality defects
Delivers Signature Service Oil Change dialogue accurately
Perform thorough vehicle inspection(Report on Conditions) in accordance to company policies and procedures
Executes the JTSS call and response system properly
Effectively maintain the store image in accordance with company site standards and presentation
Certified in at least 3 ancillary services
- Health, Safety, Security, Environmental (HSSE)
Ensures customer safety
Wears required Personal Protective Equipment
Knowsstoreevacuation plan as well as additional safety countermeasures
Qualifications and Skills:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Valid driver’s licence is required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Exceptional customer service and customer relations skills are essential
- Ability to speak effectively with customers and employees
- Ability to provide appropriate technical communication to customers
- Ability to practice fairness and diplomacy as well as the ability to problem solve is essential
- Ability to work in a professional, fast-paced environment
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to perform simple math calculations
- 100% certified completion of required computer based trainingfor the Courtesy Technician (CT), Upper Bay Technician (UBT), and/or Lower Bay Technician (LBT) modules
- Physical dexterity skills are required
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; work in awkward positions; transfer oneself from one work level to another; and move materials from one height to another
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
