With reference to the above, the TNEB Engineers’ Association would like to thank our CMD and members of the Wage Revision Committee for the opportunity granted to us to present our views on the Wages & Revision of Work load effective from 01.12.2011.

We would like to submit the following on Board’s proposal:

  1. The TRIPARTIATE Agreement between the Govt. of Tamil Nadu, TANGEDCO and Association/Unions is yet to be executed as mandated in the G.O. 100 dated 19.10.2010 & urgent necessary steps are to be taken by the TANGEDCO for executing the same before finalizing this Wage Revision,
  1. As the Balance Sheets for both the TANGEDCO & TANTRANSCO companies for the consecutive 2 years were pronounced, the HR Policy of them are yet to be spelt out. Hence, there is an urgent need for preparing new HR policies for both the restructured TANGEDCO & TANTRANSCO companies separately with a Re-look at the existing Service Regulations before going in for new Wage Revision Settlement,
  1. For the past 3 years, the Assistant Engineers in other Govt. Departments such as PWD, Highways were continuing to draw the Pay Scales based on the recommendations of the One man Commission. Hence, the TNEBEA requests to rectify this anomaly and refix the Assistant Engineers Scale of Pay from PB2 to PB3,
  1. In order to eliminate disparity among employees, the stagnation increment to the Executive Engineer cadre Pay Scale may be sanctioned by elongating the End Scale as offered to the workmen,
  1. The time permitted for exercising of option to be extended for 6 months so as to avoid Pay Anomalies,
  1. Implementation of Assured Career Progression Program (ACCP) for our Engineers on par with our Joint Venture company NTECL which is also being followed in other power sector companies in Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra Electricity Corporation and Central Public Sector Enterprises (E1toE9). This method is vogue in APTRANSCO & its associate companies since 2009,
  1. As the Dearness Allowance has reached 90%, the same may be merged with the Basic Pay.

The Detailed proposal of our TNEB Engineers’ Association will be submitted separately with in the stipulated period.

Thanking you,

Yours Faithfully,

(S.Sankara Narayanan),

General Secretary.
