Lowell Lightning Swim Team
Hello! Welcome to the Lowell Swim Team 2017. Below are some of the details to get your family started. If you are new to our program, please check out the parent handbook located on the swim team website http://parks.cityofboise.org/parks-locations/pools/swim-team/
Parent Meeting: Thursday, June 1st at 5:30pm in the grass outside Lowell Pool.
Meet the coaches, sign up for volunteer openings and ask questions about the season.
Practice Schedule: Practices begin on Monday, June 5th, there will be no practices on Monday, July 3rd or Tuesday, July 4th.
Age 13-18 7:45am-9:00am Age 9-10 10:00am-10:45am
Age 11-12 9:00am-10:00am Age 8 & Under 10:45am-11:15am

Warm ups begin at 4:15pm and meets start at 5pm. See coaches for order of events and relay details.

*On Tuesday, June 13th Lowell is hosting and July 5th Lowell is co-hosting the meet with Ivywild. We will need to provide additional volunteers for this meet.

Volunteer Opportunities:
This summer rec league, along with many of the swimming leagues in the valley, is sustained by the help of parent volunteers. There are many ways that you can help the team. Some of the volunteer opportunities include meet timers, stroke and turn judges, starter, clerk of course, and ribbons. Please see a coach or attend the parent meeting to get signed up to volunteer. Training is provided for all positions.
If you would like to help as a stroke and turn judge, please plan to attend one of the trainings provided by Boise Parks and Recreation: Monday, June 5th from 5:45-6:30pm at Fairmont Pool.
Suits and T-Shirts:
Team shirts are included in your registration fee. YEAH! You should have ordered your child’s shirt size when you registered them for the team. Shirt orders will be placed the first week of June. Please get registered ASAP to ensure your child gets the appropriate shirt size. Shirts will be delivered to the coach the week of your first meet.
Team Suits are not required to participate in the swim meets. However, if you child needs a suit for practice and competition, the team suit is a good investment. All of our team suits are polyester, which holds up longer in the chlorine. Team suits can be purchased at the Swim and Run Shop, 8620 Fairview, Boise, ID 83704. 208-321-0105.
