Loss Control Representative

Colorado Intergovernmental Risk Sharing Agency (CIRSA) has an opening for a Loss Control Representative in our home office located in Denver, Colorado. CIRSA is the municipal insurance pool of Colorado providing property/liability and workers’ compensation coverages and services to communities across the state.

The Loss Control Representative positionis responsible for conducting audits, surveys,consultations, and other general safety and health responsibilities for their assigned members and will be expected to learn our member’s operations, resource availability, and operational capability.The position will evaluate applicable regulatory information and use this information as a guideline to creatively and cooperatively develop department-specific short and long-term improvement plans, programs, etc. The ideal candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset, knowing that effective and productive loss control efforts are not compliance driven but rather relationship, educational, and guidance driven.

Other duties may include developing and delivering monthly webinars, developing job safety analyses, developing, managing, and updating various spreadsheets, participatingand coordinating meetings, seminars, workshops, safety video’s, etc.

Weekly travel is required throughout the state of Colorado with frequent overnight stays. Member site visits are conducted year-round in varying weather conditions including snow, ice, etc.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in safety, risk management or an equivalent field withpreferred 5+ years of full-time safety/risk management experience. Other relevant experience and/or credentialing may be consideredin place of an aforementioned degree. OHST, ASP, or CSP preferred. Salary DOQ.
