Look at the similarities and differences between the introduction and conclusion for a persuasive argument presented below.

Look at the introduction first.

According to guncontrol.ca “The death rate by firearms in the United States was 10.2 per 100,000 in 2009, for a total of 31,347 deaths.” [WU1]In the USA, federal, state and municipal law allow average citizens to carry concealed weapons.[WU2]This is hard to believe given that there seems to be no end to the number of shootings taking place. [WU3]Gun violence is criminal. Therefore, it seems reasonable that the laws allowing easy access to guns be drastically changed.[WU4]Strict gun control in the USA is necessary because; firstly, anyone can buy a gun; secondly, too many people are being victimized; and thirdly, innocent children are dying in rampage shootings[WU5]. Doesn’t it just make sense that taking the instruments of destruction away from those who may do violence is a way of reducing tragedy?[WU6] Death and devastation by gun violence can be avoided! That is why stricter laws must be enacted making firearms extremely difficult to get.

Compare the Conclusion.

In conclusion, if even one death by gun violence is upsetting to you; then certainly 31,347 ought to incite a public outrage. [WU7]When will the gun violence end?[WU8] Federal, state, and municipal governments must change their gun laws. [WU9]It will take concerned citizens and moral politicians to implement stricter gun control.[WU10] Logically it all begins when we demand background checks for those purchasing guns which in turn will prevent unstable people from using guns to victimize others; and most importantly, reduce the needless rampage shootings committed by those bent on mass murder. [WU11]It makes complete sense to take instruments of destruction away from those who would do violence. [WU12]When every citizen carries a gun, it does not necessarily make society a safer place. [WU13]It simply increases the likelihood that people will use guns to solve disputes, to get what they want or tragically, to end the lives of others[WU14]. I hope that we can now all agree that gun laws must be stricter.[WU15]
