Expert by Experience Volunteer Trainer

Role Description

Trainers share their lived experiences through training, enabling support workers to have a better understanding of the customers they support and thereby are in a better position to support them effectively.

RESPONSIBLE TO: / Expert by Experience (EBE) Training Team Manager
WORKING WITH: / EBE Training Team including the Co-Production Team and the Learning and Development Team.
LOCATION: / EBE training generally takes place at Look Ahead Head Office in Westminster. Occasionally you will be required to attend other locations depending on where the training is being held.
PURPOSE: / To work collaboratively with the EBE Team Manager and Team, Learning and Development and Co Production Team on the co-design and co-delivery of training regarding lived experience, other training when required and incentives to raise the profile of Look Ahead.
The role will be based on an equal partnership between customers or persons with lived experience and the EBE Training Team Manager. It is important that you are reliable and understand that becoming an EBE trainer is a commitment.
TIME COMMITMENT: / EBE Training is delivered monthly;you will be informed what days you will be training and where, two weeks in advance, with optional addeddates when required.
You will also be required to attend monthly team meetings, clinical supervision and training development workshops.
ROLE ACTIVITIES: / -Assist with co developing,co designing and writing relevant EBE training.
-Deliver training and presentations to Look Ahead Support staff, outside organisations and Look Ahead customers.
-Attend training team meetings and one to one supervision with the EBE Training Team Manger.
-Attend Train the Trainer and Training Development workshops.
-Prepare training rooms prior to delivering training.
-Ensure training content and handouts are relevant and up to date.
