The Job

Contactrequire a PR andAdministration Assistant to support theHead of PR and Communications on a day-to-day basis with the promotion of Lifeline, the crisis helpline and counselling service 0808 808 8000.

You will bring with you, strong communication and organisational skills, both verbal and written, you are a seasoned multi-tasker, and enjoy social media and keeping yourself informed.

Main Duties

As PR Assistant, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  1. To work closely with the Head of Communications and PR to help generate marketing and Lifeline promotional ideas andmaterials and maintain stock levels.
  1. To distribute promotional materials and co-ordinate postal campaigns to areas according to demographic analysis of need.
  1. To develop relationships with stakeholders and pursue mutually beneficial promotional activities.
  1. To manage a busy diary of invitations and attendance at events and maintain awareness of the Lifeline service at a community level.
  1. To assist the Head of Comms and PR to work with individuals and groups interested in fundraising for Contact.
  1. To work closely with the Head of Comms and PR in the organisation, co-ordination and implementationof conferences/events/meetings including but not limited to overseeing venues, invitations and RSVPs for events.
  1. To provide regular and updated activity reports to the Head of Comms and PR.
  1. To update and maintain stakeholder databases and social media presence.
  1. To represent Contact/Lifeline with the utmost integrity, professionalism, kindness and good humour at all times.

Personnel Specification:

  1. Educated to third level qualification within a relevant field
  1. A minimum of one years’ experience in a promotional outreach role with evidence of successful outreach campaigns.
  1. A current Driving Licence and access to a car for work purposes. This criterion will be waived in the case of an applicant whose disability prohibits driving but who is able to organise alternative arrangements.
  1. Excellent client facing / communication skills with the ability to adapt the tone and approach of PR/ promotional work relative to the situation.
  1. Experience of managing and updating databases for promotional mail outs.
  1. Experience of online promotion using social media.
  1. ExcellentIT skills especially withMicrosoft Office.
  1. Excellent written, oral and presentation skills, with the ability to work to deadlines, demonstrating a continuous drive for quality and commitment to excellence.
  1. Excellent organisational skills.
  1. Ability to demonstrate creative thinking and initiative.
  1. A good awareness/ knowledge of community voluntary, charity organisations working in mental health demonstrating empathy and understanding with various types of people within the stakeholder groups
  1. Commitment to work flexible hours.
  1. Understanding of and commitment to Contact’s values and mission.
