Role:

The McChrystal Group Marketing Manager will work extensively to build awareness, understanding, and preference for McChrystal Group. This role plays a critical function in driving sales leads for the firm’s Client Services (consulting) and Leadership Institute lines of business while also producing supporting collateral to educate prospects and compress the sales cycle. The Marketing Manager will provide marketing support to the CMO and also take ownership of delegated tasks and implementation efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day marketing support to CMO as needed, including physically representing the marketing department in HQ meetings in which the CMO is participating via VTC
  • Maintain the MG website: draft copy, update imagery, monitor analytics, and troubleshoot functionality as needed
  • Manage and grow MG’s social media presence on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn: research mentions, develop and post content, and provide updates
  • Draft, design layout, and obtain approvals of marketing materials including brochures, sales tools, and POVs
  • Research, ghost-write, edit, and placement of thought leadership papers and bylined articles
  • Build and maintain library of keynote speeches (PowerPoint and Keynote) for Speakers Bureau
  • Assess requests for speakers and media interviews: vet, book, and staff
  • Perform guest research in support of Gen. Stan McChrystal’s monthly podcast
  • Develop and maintain library of client case studies and testimonials
  • Repackage internal research or client products into marketing materials
  • Support client engagements--primarily materials development and event execution--as required
  • Research industry trends, competitive peer set, and best practices
  • Acquire understanding of McChrystal Group products and methodology
  • Actively and positively contribute to McChrystal Group culture
  • Further the growth of McChrystal Group by providing support of broader marketing, sales, and business development efforts

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or related discipline
  • 3+ years of work experience in marketing or public relations agency. Publishing, management consulting, or other B2B experience highly preferred
  • Exemplary writing, editing, copywriting, research, proofreading, and interpersonal skills
  • Digital native, with superior social media savvy balanced by brand appropriateness
  • Keen eye for design; graphic design, layout, UX design experience a plus
  • Experience with planning, executing and measuring outbound email and direct mail marketing campaigns
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to flourish in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with a high degree of endurance and flexibility
  • Superior focus and professionalism, reflective of McChrystal Group’s brand
  • Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently on multiple assignments concurrently and change roles quickly when necessary
  • Adaptability and positive attitude amidst shifting priorities and multiple iterations of work
  • Creative problem solver with a drive to continuously improve products and processes
  • Exceptional writer and oral communicator, able to distill often complex business, market dynamics and thought leadership issues into compelling and audience-tailored communications
  • Advanced skills in Word, PowerPoint, Keynote, WordPress, and InDesign or other design software packages. Coding experience a plus
  • Ability to travel as needed
