LOCAL WINS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE

The American Quarter Horse Association, Oklahoma City– <First, Last of <city, state>, captured the world championship title in <class> at the 2016 Lucas Oil American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show on <date> in Oklahoma City.

<Last name> showed the American Quarter Horse <Horse>, owned by <owner> of <city, state>. The < year color sex>, sired by <sire> and out of <mare>, was bred by <Breeder> of <City, State>.

In the <class> class, <number of entries> entries competed for world champion honors and a purse of <class purse>. World champions received a prize package that included a custom-designed gold trophy, courtesy of the Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show; Montana Silversmiths buckle; specially designed logoed jacket and world champion patch, courtesy of Cripple Creek Outerwear; neck wreath; and 100 pounds of Nutrena feed.

The Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show is the pinnacle event for American Quarter Horse owners and exhibitors around the world, who must qualify for the event by earning a predetermined number of points to compete in each of the classes representing halter, English and western disciplines. More than 4,900 entries from the United States, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, Switzerland, South Africa and the United Kingdom are competing for 99 world championships and 83 Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan) Level 2 championship titles at this year’s event, November 3-19 at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City.
