Minutes for Meeting of May 13, 2009
Present:

Meeting opened at 0905 hours with Burke asking for approval of minutes from last month’s meeting. A motion was made to accept the minutes by Burke and 2nd by Terry Grover.
State:
Richard Moseley noted the Haz Mat Conference, Aug 11–13 at the Provo Marriot. Also,
Richard can give a 4-hour explosives class if you are interested. This month’s DPS Fact
Sheet lists a website if you are interested in checking out the flood zones in your area:
www.fema.gov/hazard/flood/info.shtm click on the link “Flood Maps” on the left hand side
and put your address in the search box. Also to stay up to date with the latest information
on the Swine Flu: www.bereadyutah.gov and free instrument calibration is available to
responder agencies such as Health, Public Safety, Transportation, Fire, law enforcement,
LEPC’s, SERT’s, Public Works, and EMS. Call (801)256-2479 or (801)599-2100.
Health Department:
Randy Wilde said there was one spill last month on the asphalt at Flying J in Willard. Also at the Flying J there was an incident involving frogs, human waste and oil which made the news. Take normal precautions where the Swine Flu in involved. There are concerns about what may happen the next flu season.
Homeland Security:
Kevin Potter was unavailable for today’s meeting.
HazMat Team:
Greg Martz discussed canister masks. Anyone with cartridge needs, get that info to him.
One exercise was held last month with good training on the propane tree, check it out at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=vc8zN1kT-Q8 The next exercise will be May 26 in Willard.
LEPC website subject came up and Rich VanDyke is hoping the upgrade to the County website will be done by open house in June. Burke and Kevin will get with him. Mark Crane and Terry Grover gave presentations on Enviro Care and Lincoln Environmental.
Next Meeting
The next LEPC Meeting is scheduled for June 10, 2009, at the Bear River Hospital.
