The ThabazimbiLocalMunicipality invites bids from suitable Service Providers to provide with the ICT hardware and software listed below:

1.1 HARDWARE

Email server / This will be the mail server.

Data server / All user data will be stored on this server.

Application server / This server will host applications and SQL databases.
Virtual server 2003 will be used on this server.
Specifications:

  • 4Gb memory

  • DVD rom

Backup Device and Tapes /
  1. Backup drive with minimum capacity of 300GB Ultruim tapes
  • 20 x backup tapes
  • 1 x cleaning tape

1.2 SOFTWARE

1. Microsoft Enterprise Server 2003 (3 Server Licenses)

2. Microsoft Client Access licenses (for 100 user)

3. Kerio Mail server with Integrated McCafee Antivirus and Spam Assassin (for 100 users).

4. Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 (for 100 users)

2.EVALUATION CRITERIA

The 80/20 preference point system will be applicable with functionality and Price at 80% and BEE at 20%. The points will be allocated as follows:

2.1Functionality and Price 80 Points

Functionality 48 points (60%)

a)Proposal:15 Points

The bidders should adhere to the specification provided and demonstrate the project understanding.

b)Implementation Timelines: 5 Points

The successful Service Provider should provide a full detailed implementation plan and the envisage duration of the project.

c)Company Experience: 10 Points

The bidders should provide details and references for work previously completed in this related field of work and it should be accompanied by the company profile.

d)Skills Set: 13 Points

A list of human resources to be used in the project should be provided including their CV’s, clearly reflecting relevant experience in the work to be performed. No replacement of the indicated human resources will be allowed, but in extreme cases where such replacements are necessary and unavoidable, the level of qualifications, experience, proficiency and skill shall be equal to or higher than those of the resource to be replaced.

2.2Price 32 points (40%)

Cost breakdown should be included according to work to be completed with vat inclusive.

DOCUMENT FEE : R100.00 PER DOCUMENT

Bid documents containing the Conditions of Bid as well as the Procurement Policy will be available from the Procurement Officer after the payment of R100.00 has been made.

The said documents must be placed in a SEALED ENVELOPE and clearly marked “TENDER – PURCHASE OF SERVERS” and be placed in a TENDER-BOX at the following address:
