They were very happy to receive the potatoes

Newsletter: (Julianne O’Neill)

  • Some members had replied back to her asking that they use a different e-mail address to receive their newsletter. It was discussed that she should change it to the address they requested and notify them that they should change it with Stacie too so the membership list is correct.
  • Tina forwarded Julianne an e-mail from constant contact offering us a way to change our e-mail format to be more cell phone friendly. Julianne expressed that she felt that this was an unnecessary expense to add but wanted to bring it to the board’s attention that it was an option.

Boston Marathon Invitational Marathon Number Policy

  • A proposed edit to the policy which would include an addition to the policy was submitted by Caitlin Doherty. It included the following: Each board member excluding the President is eligible to receive up to three bib numbers for the course of their tenure. Secretary and President will keep a list of who and when numbers were taken in order to notify board members of how many numbers they continue to be eligible to receive.
  • Another discussion was held and no votes or changes were made and it was agreed to table the discussion for next meeting.
  • Anyone interested in changing the policy should bring their proposal to the next board meeting
  • Some ideas discussed:
  • a claus that if a board member does not attend an number of board meetings and club held events their eligibility for a number would be a stake
  • The number of bibs received by a board member if the proposal from Caitlin Doherty was accepted three may be considered too many.
  • Remove the portion regarding participation in BAA events as a requirement.
  • distribute numbers based on Board Members creating a list of possible candidates (as done by past boards) going through the lists seeing who is on multiple list and offering based on whose names were given.

President (Theresa Cidlevich):

Last order of business was from President Theresa Cidlevich who informed the Board that “It is with much sole searching that I inform you all that I am resigning as President of the L Street Running Club. Due to family obligations, I cannot commit to the many details that it takes to keep the club functioning week in and week out and do not want to shortchange the club in anyway.”

Under Roberts Rules of Law succession to President will be Vice President Caitlin Doherty.

Unfinished Business

  • Review criteria for being selected for BAA numbers.
  • Open discussion on how we can get people to volunteer and generally low level of participation by members.
