LLOYDS TSB LAUNCHES HOME ENERGY

AND TELEPHONE SERVICES

Lloyds TSB today becomes the first UK bank to offer gas, electricity and telephone services to customers through its network of High Street branches. The new service, called Ideal from Lloyds TSB, will give both new and existing Lloyds TSB current account customers the opportunity to make sizeable savings on their monthly bills.

To make life easier in today’s hectic world, customers will also receive one monthly bill combining the charges for the services they choose. For extra peace of mind, the Bank will also handle the process of switching suppliers on customers’ behalf.

Peter Ayliffe, group executive director, UK retail banking, Lloyds TSB, said: “Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of UK consumers are paying over the odds for these essential services and we’re using the strength of our buying power to get them a better deal. No other High Street bank is providing this service, making this yet another compelling reason for customers to choose us.

“Our customers have told us this is exactly the kind of service they want and by offering them a combined bill paid by direct debit, we’re also making their lives simpler. This underlines our commitment to help customers make the most of their money.”

The new service, which has already been extensively piloted in Chester and Wolverhampton, will be available in all Lloyds TSB branches by 15 August.
