Thickness Measurement v.3.0 Release Notes

  1. LR’s TM version 3.0 is an Access ‘97 application designed to replace the current 16-bit TM versions 1.02, 2.00 and 2.02.
  2. TM version 3.0 does not require the presence of Access ’97. However a runtime Access ’97 library will be installed. Minimum hardware requirements are a Pentium II spec PC or equivalent with 16 Mbytes of Memory. Minimum software requirement is Microsoft Office 97 with Windows 95.
  3. Important: Windows 95 users - before installing TM version 3.0, you MUST install a windows service pack on your computer otherwise the TM install script will not run. To install this Windows Installer Service Pack, locate and select on the CD, Win95\InstMsi.exe from windows explorer and double-click to install.
  4. For non-LR PCs, it is necessary to uninstall a previous version of TM, older versions of TM can be removed via the Control Panel Add/Remove programs utility. Make sure copies of your TM data files are backuped or moved elsewhere before deletion. Failure to do so may result in unpredictable results, loss of files or duplication of program names under the LR Thickness Measurement program group.
  5. TM data imported from version 2.00 into version 3.00 will be converted to its Access ’97 format. Access database structures not found in earlier versions are modified to take advantage of new features in the software. It is recommended that once a TM report is used in v3.0, that it is not be used in older versions of TM otherwise some information may be lost. User are advised to copy and retain TM reports created on earlier version, as considered necessary.
  6. Install Thickness Measurement version 3.00 as follows-

Windows 95/98/NT - run “LR - Thickness Measurement + RunTime 97 Windows 9x m1.0.msi” from the CD supplied.

Windows 2000/ME/XP(non LR built machines) – run “LR - ThickMes v3.0 + Access 97 Runtime m2.4.MSI”

LR Built PCs (Windows XP only) –run “LR - ThickMes v3.0 m1.4.MSI”

Follow all instructions in the installation dialogue. Three icons will be created in programs start-up labelled “LR Thickness Measurement”. Full instructions on how to use LR’s Thickness Measurement and software maintenance procedures are listed in the user guide.

8.This version of LRS T.M. software has been successfully tested on various printers. From experience it is noted that some individual printer margin on US Letter settings may require to be altered accordingly, where appropriate.
