*Corporate Prayer of Confession
O most just and gracious God, you are of purer eyes than to behold iniquity, but you have promised mercy through Jesus Christ to all who repent and believe in him. Therefore we confess that we are sinful by nature and that we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God. We have neglected and abused your holy worship and your holy name. We have dealt unjustly and uncharitably with our neighbors. We have not sought first your kingdom and your righteousness. We have not been content with your daily bread. You have revealed your wonderful love to us in Christ and offered us pardon and salvation in him, but we have turned away. We have run into temptation, and the sin that we should have hated, we have cherished. Have mercy upon us, most merciful Father! We confess that you alone are our hope. Make us your children and give us the Spirit of your Son, our only Savior, in whose name we pray. Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Our Prayer of Confession is adapted from a prayer by Puritan Pastor Richard Baxter.
Ministering to us from God’s Word this morning is Nathan Moretto. Nathan worked for Campus Outreach out of Second Presbyterian (EPC) in Memphis, TN for 8 years before sensing a call to the pastorate. He finished his Master of Divinity from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary this past summer, and is currently in the process of moving to Royal Oak. There, he will help with New City Presbyterian Church (which Calvary’s Missions Budget has helped support) and eventually will plant another church in the Metro Detroit area. Nathan and his wife, Falon, have been married over 8 years and their daughter Evalena is 6 months old.
