List of Questions from the March 10th Meeting

Assessment:

  1. What is the resource assessment tool that is targeting 70% of providers? Can we do our own process?

70% response from people who participated in the survey, they can use their own process but they have to use our form/tool. Tool will be ready for the June 2nd cohort mtg.

  1. What are the performance-based measures for community coordinators?

None currently, will be discussed in the future with ACHS.

  1. What other point/data resources do communities use in addition to what DBHR provided?

Can use local data EG: sheriff dept, school building, ER, local key informant

  1. Can counties provide input into development of data gathering tools/assessment?

Will be discussed with learning community.

  1. Local data that DBHR provides to cohort/county. How often will be updated and will we be using 2010 census data?

Yet to be determined. We will be using 2010 census data.

  1. Will Cohort 2 get data?

Cohort 2 will get data.

  1. How is DBHR working with CMASA to reduce duplications of activities?

They have been invited to the table.

  1. What’s the difference between assessment and evaluation/

They are interrelated because the assessment creates the baseline for evaluation.

Planning:

  1. How many frameworks are available?

Refer to framework document. DBHR’s primary strategy is the Strategic Prevention Framework, but there are other programs that exist; 7 processes currently listed in that document.

  1. Specific guidelines for selecting goals?

That guidance will be part of the summer in person meeting.

  1. What are outcome measures goals to drive process

Refer to the logic model.

  1. When will the logic model be available?

Today and also in May.

  1. Will the CADCA Coalition trainings be made available for Cohort 1 members?

We are encouraging Cohort 1 members to attend.

  1. Comparison and coast of community Plan framework tool?

We have not done a cost analysis.

  1. Can DBHR make a list of planning tools available?

Refer to templates by category document.

Implementation:

  1. How do we support coalition sustainability during the full five year period?

We have a sustainability subcommittee that is working on this issue.

  1. Frequency of Cohort 1 meeting (face to face) for budgeting and staffing process?

Yet to be determined.

  1. Who is the right person at state level to extend the hand to engage the community leaders?

Your Prevention System Manager, Michael, or Steve.

  1. Need DBHR trainings on environmental strategies. Dr Embry?

DBHR will ensure that environmental strategies trainings are available

  1. Will a minimum number of strategies be adjusted funding level for small counties?

That question will be answered later.

  1. How can we have coalition experts sharing their knowledge and experience?

Through the learning community and TheAthenaForum.org

Reporting and Evaluation:

  1. Will these be performance-based contracts

All county contracts should include performance based contracting language. There will be no additional performance based deliverables at this time.

  1. Specific data points for evaluating 8th and 10th grade 30 day use. Academic? Juvenile crime? What?

Anticipate specifics in the May meeting.

  1. It takes a long time to affect 30 day use. When would sanctions come in?

Need more conversation about this quesition

  1. Will Cohort 1 PRI be treated the same as other prevention services?

Yes.

  1. Is funding and evaluation tied to funding? How about ESD’s?

  1. Do required meeting include a rep who is required to attend?

Yes.

  1. MH TX agencies don’t do MH promotion, others in the community do…..Home Visiting, early childhood work, etc…

It is unclear what exactly is the question.

  1. Who covers insurance for community events?

The fiscal agent, local partner, or coalition if they’re incorporated.
