List of AcceptableDocuments and IdentificationPoints

To comply with the FTR Act a customer must present identificationdocuments equal to at least 100 points. This can be made up of one primary identification document and at least one secondary identification document, or all secondary documents. However, some restrictions apply as indicated below.

Note: To satisfy the 100 point requirement, all identificationdocuments presented must be in the same surname.

If a customer presents his/her birth certificate but cannot present sufficient secondary documents in the same surname, or, he/she presents another primary document in one surname but cannot produce sufficient secondary documents in the same surname, then they may present all secondary documents in the same surname to satisfy the 100 point requirement. Alternatively, they may provide an Identification Reference for a Signatory to an Account. This situation often applies, for example, to female customers who have changed their surname through marriage.
