LCSC AquaSprint team, travelled to Ballymena on the team bus on a beautiful sunny day on Friday 3rd June. Swimmers and supporters were all very excited about the last AquaSprint Gala of the Season sponsored by Forest Feast.

Going into the Final as favourites against Coleraine and Larne, Lisburn descended on Ballymena Swimming pool confident that a team performance would win the day. After the pool warm up and led by Lisburn, all swimmers paraded around the pool to cheers and hooters adding to the excitement of the evening. Captains Sasha Quinn and Noah Poots rallied the squad and with Lisburn Swim caps on and go faster tattoos on show, Lisburn did not disappoint. They burst out of the blocks and stormed into the lead taking 3 out of 4 relays in the Medley Relay Event.

Winning relays is vital for the success of the team, individual swims which are split 3 ways on points on finals night, is always very close.

Lisburn stretched the lead on each of the Individual events with confident starts and strong finishes.

The exciting Freestyle events at the end gave Lisburn everything they needed to bring home Gold for the 2016 Squad.
