Program Description:

This class is not for the faint of heart or those with malaise and fatigue. You’ll spend the day coding complex scenarios that include intense study of the coding guidelines in both ICD-9 and ICD-10. These coding scenarios include the conditions that you’ll need to code for the HCS-D certification and recertification exam so they are an excellent study aid! The classincludes all the latest info on coding. You’ll have great examples of the impact of the change to the case mix list to share withdirectors. Attendees need a good grasp of coding processes to engage in this interactive class. Don't allow the delay in ICD-10 implementation to stop your progress forward.

Objectives:

A. Explain the relevance of OASIS data items for diagnoses to payment.
B.Prioritize diagnoses based on clinical assessment and planned
interventions.
C. Apply specific sequencing rules as required by the Official Coding
Guidelines.
E. Use the coding manual to find codes and sequence diagnoses for home
care scenarios.
F. Discuss the relevancy of the clinical record, the official coding guidelines
and other official guidance for choosing primary and secondary
diagnoses.

Refund Policy –Registration cancellations or requests for refund received in writing (e-mail ok) 7 days before the conference will be entitled to a refund up to the total amount paid, less $25 administrative charge. Cancellations received after the 7th day will be entitled to a refund of 50 percent of amount paid. Refunds will not be made for no-shows.
