Task 1

Page 6 - #2 -– If you see the image below, pPress Enter to select the first option, which is highlighted by default, Install or upgrade an existing system. You may not see this screen if it has timed out. If so, just continue to Step 3

Page 6 – under image in #2 – ADD

Page 9 - #9 - You will need to set the root password. Type the password Train1ng in the Password and Password (confirm) fields:. Press Tab and Enter to continue.

Page 12 - #16 - You can now log into the system. Please use the username root and the password Train1ng. Note that the password will not be echoed back to the terminal (displayed) when entered. After login, you will get the default Linux prompt for the root user:

Page 13 - #1 - At the Linux prompt enter the following command to change directory cd to the location where the GRUB configuration file, resides /boot/grub/grub.conf, resides as shown below:

Page 18 - #14 - Add a pound sign character, #, in front of the hiddenmenu entry: to comment out (hide) this command:

Page 22 - #5 – Create a backup copy in case we “clobber” it, and then list the files again. The -p argument preserves the mode, ownership, and timestamp of the file and sudo allows a regular user to run a command as a user with a security privilege such as root:
