This is College; The bar is set high for a purpose.

My Rules are Simple; they are the Three “R’s”

And Rule #1
No one gets hurt
And there are a bunch of rule makers making rules they say I must have you adhere to.
Scoring, your goal is to accumulate 1,000 points A’s =900+ B’s =800+ C’s = 700+
Grading, no curve. All in the class can be A’s
How to be successful with Grades:
Be Curious. Go into the unknown. Be willing to try. Grow.
Do your own work. Experience your own growth. I reward this.
Journal Daily,
Write down 3 things you learned today. 5 points credit for each journal.
Open Resource
All Tests and Quizzes will be open book. You will be able to use the Class Text, Shop Manuals, Mitchell, Charts, Posters, Notes that you make in and outside of class.
*Only your notes. Notes may not be shared between students.
* Electronic devices may be excluded for test proctoring.
Late Assignments; Subtract 10% score each day it is late.
Live projects are encouraged. I will work with you to blend it in.
*During class hours’ live project must support the curriculum.
Shop cleanup all participate, I will develop and post a rotating Duty Roster.
Cell Phones, off & away
There is an expectation of Daily Performance & Productivity.
Closed Toe Footwear is required in the Lab at all times (OSHA).
Safety Glasses must be worn in the Lab at all times (OSHA).
OSHA regulations are my guide to judge the safety of student clothing. Attire needs to be well fitted (OSHA) Sagging trousers not allowed.
In most cases wearing your provided work uniform is required. (ACCT contract)
Shirts to be tucked in, clean & laundered. Show Personal cleanliness.
Food and Beverage cannot be in the lab (OSHA)
1. Sunflower Seeds are not allowed in the lab or classroom.
2. Marijuana, 34 CFR 86.301 is the federal regulation stating that federal aid shall be terminated to schools and the schools can be required to repay federal funds previously awarded for non-compliance with the drug and safety laws for colleges and universities.
3. Smoking, an area is provided, and will be disclosed during our walk-around. Butts are to go into the trash.
The Service Manager Rule
Each Tardy you are required to phone your Service Manager and explain why you are tardy before participating with the class.
Redirection,
Behavior issues in the class or lab, generally Off Task, Horseplay, or a Safety Issue.
Work off a Redirection with 15 minutes or more of work for Mr. Cooper. These are recorded and further addressed as accumulated.
Work on personal projects & vehicles benefits you. Mr. Brendon Cooper is the Shop Gatekeeper, get OK through him to get access space for personal vehicles. Disclaimer and other paperwork is required.
You are individuals. You will come through the program retaining individuality. Some of you will have more marketable skill sets than your peers. That’s OK. I will show you strategies to solve problems. As a program completer I want you to walk into the room like a boss. The bar was set high for a purpose.
