Linda Kahley Brought Sunshine Into the Lives of Anyone Who Was Lucky Enough to Come Into

Linda Kahley brought sunshine into the lives of anyone who was lucky enough to come into her life at home, at work or, for that matter, anywhere. Anyone who met her had their days brightened because they had the privilege of knowing Linda Mortimer Kahley.

Her eagerness to please was as bright as the smile she always wore. She was fully devoted to her job and was the ultimate professional while, at the same time, she brought such joy to everything she did and everyone she came in contact with. Her care, attention, willingness and an abiding determination to do the right thing defined Linda’s life. Linda enriched every space she occupied. All who knew her enjoyed her wondrous qualities – qualities which seemed like the sunshine she had within her, the sunshine she was always willing to share with everyone.

Linda taught so much by the way she lived her life – how to care about the job you were doing while at the same time caring about the people you were doing the job for … the value of a smile and a kind word … how to enjoy any job or situation … how there is no such things as strangers, just friends you haven’t met yet … how to really forgive. Forgiveness with Linda happened at the moment she was hurt – because her heart was so large and full of compassion. Linda never had anything bad to say about anyone – ever. She always looked beyond someone’s words or actions to try and see the person they really were. Because of this, there was never any judgment. She believed the best of everyone.

Linda fully accepted who she was and she generously shared herself with everyone she came in contact with. You could tell her anything and know that it would be met with complete acceptance, understanding and love. She never tried to be someone other than Linda – she showed everyone who knew her all of who she was – good and bad – with total acceptance of herself. And in doing so, she made it okay to just be yourself, too. She made being human more beautiful than trying to be perfect. She was – in every way – one of the most beautiful people who graced this Earth.

While her friends miss her smile, her brightness, her gentle, fun and loving spirit more and more as time passes, their hopes and prayers are that you would join with them in honoring the woman Linda was by donating to the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation or walking with them in the 3rd Annual Linda Kahley Walk for Ovarian Cancer in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, October 23, 2011.
