Ethnobotany Paper Requirements

Each student is required to do a semester paper. This paper is required to be turned in online to by 11:59 p.m. Friday April 13, 2007. There will not be exceptions to this due date!!! THE WEBSITE WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO SUBMITT LATE PAPERS!!!!

You will submit your paper using your name and period as the file name (Firstnamelastnamep1). The class is Biology2007, the enrollment id is 1855463 and the password is Biology. You must enroll yourself into the class before you can submit your paper.

This paper will be on Ethnobotany (see description.

Students will signup for the plant they want to write about. No illegal drug producing plants will be allowed. No ornamental plants, (used for looks only) will be allowed. Look for plants that have had an effect on human civilization (good or bad). Plants can not be changed without the instructors’ written permission.

The paper will be five (5) paragraphs in length, not counting the cover page. the bibliography and any figures or diagrams included. The paper is required to be typed, double space, not more than 12pt font size using any normal type font. When you turn it in online you will get an originality report. Your paper must score below a twenty percent (20%) on the originality report or you will receive a grade of “F”. You are able to turn your paper in for review more than once up until the deadline. It will take approximately 24 hours for you see a report after the first time you submit.

BIBLIOGRAPHY

You must use at least 3 references, There is no maximum. Of these 3 all of them must be no older than 6 years (2001). One of the 3 required references MUST be off the Internet. No More than two of the 3 required can be off the Internet or CD reference material. It is suggested that newspapers, magazines and television shows be used as references.

You will be scheduled in the media center for the entire week of April 9th-13th. If you miss school one of these days additional time will not be given! If you wish to save your paper to continue at home, BRING IN A FLOPPY DISK!
