Mondays

  • On Commencement of shift put out dirty linen and bins
  • Check Maintenance Request Book-attend to anything urgent,
  • Water all pots depending on weather and current Water Restrictions.
  • Attend to anything else in Maintenance Request Book. Put tasks that are beyond you, i.e. tasks requiring tradesmen, in the Continuous Improvement Log
  • Check Maintenance Request Book at least twice more during morning.
  • Clean window screen /screen door on window cleaning schedule. Leave screen off window. Do before 11.00am. Put screen back on after cleaners have cleaned window
  • Look at Maintenance Planner to see which equipment is due for servicing
  • First week of Month–Flotation Chairs
  • Second week of the Month-Wheelchairs
  • Third week of the Month- shower Chairs
  • Fourth week of the month- trolleys, sanitisers, lifters.
  • On or about the 16th of every month-Make a start on servicing if time permits, and make sure that the paperwork isdone

Tuesdays

  • Check Maintenance Request Book-attend to anytasks, put anything beyond you in Continuous Improvement Log.
  • Check Maintenance Book at least twice more during morning
  • Clean window screen/screen door on window cleaning schedule. Leave screen off window. Do before 11.00am. Put screen back on after cleaners have cleaned window
  • Clean allpaved areas including entrances, ambulance bay, Hostel court yard, internal courtyard, Nursing Home veranda, alcoves outside Hostel and Nursing Home rooms and empty rubbish bins in these areas.
  • Continue with equipment servicing if time permits.
  • Temperature test the thermostatic mixing valves (TMV) once a month (2nd Tuesday of month). If any are outside the parameters fill out a Continuous Improvement log (fax/email CI Log to plumber) and notify the DoN.

Wednesdays

  • Check Maintenance Request Book-attend to any tasks, put anything beyond you in Continuous Improvement Log.
  • Check Maintenance Book at least twice more during day.
  • Water pots in summer if water restrictions permit.
  • Clean window screen/screen door on window cleaning schedule. Leave screen off. Do before 11.00am. Put screen back on after cleaners have cleaned window
  • Clean large anti-fatigue mats in kitchen with high pressure cleaner
  • Clean Roberts (RM10 hostel) bathroom mat with high pressure cleaner.
  • First week of the Month-wash available wheelchairs with high pressure cleaner.
  • Fourth week of the month- pull out the small washing machine in the laundry, put back after cleaners have cleaned underneath it2.00pm.

Thursdays

  • Put out bins first thing.
  • Check Maintenance Request Book-attend to tasks, put anything beyond you in the continuous Improvement Log.
  • Check Maintenance Book at least twice during the morning.
  • Water pots.
  • Clean window screen/ screen door on window cleaning schedule. Leave screen off. Do before 11.00am. Put screen back on after cleaners have cleaned window
  • After Otto bins have been emptied, clean with water, detergent and broom.
  • Attend to any bi-annual or tri-annual tasks on the Maintenance planner
  • Complete servicing of the weeks equipment and make sure that the paper work has been completed.
  • Clean split systems Air conditioners in RAO room fortnightly and in Laundry room weekly.
  • At end of shift put dirty linen out (for collection on Friday morning.

Fridays

  • Check Maintenance Request Book and attend to tasks, put anything beyond you in the Continuous Improvement Log.
  • Check Maintenance Book at least twice during the morning.
  • Water pots in summer, water restrictions permitting and weed if necessary.
  • Clean window screen/ screen door on window cleaning schedule. Leave screen off. Do before 11.00am. Put screen back on after cleaners have cleaned window
  • Line trim all edges.
  • Mow lawns as needed, (weekly summer to monthly winter).
  • Clean bird aviary and inside cages-give fresh water, seed etc.

Three monthly

  • Check and if necessary clean split system air conditioner filters
  • High pressure clean one kitchen trolley along with the kitchen mats each week until all four are done.
  • Check and if necessary clean gutters.
  • Clean exhaust fans.

Six Monthly

  • Test pressure release valves on all hot water systems-August and March
  • Clean ceiling hoist tracks and hoist straps – June andDecember
  • Check condition of Nursing Home and Hostel beds–June andDecember.
  • Clean and close/open air conditioner vents at beginning and end of summer, clean ceiling fans as you go – AprilandOctober
  • Clean sky lights.
  • Replace back-up batteries in sprinkler systems control boxes - March and September.
  • Clean Air Conditioner filter in holding room–March andSeptember

Yearly

  • Prune roses and cedar trees-June.
