IMPORTANT NOTICE ON BOLTS AND TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

For important safety and proper operation of your Vanair Air Compressor the SAE Grade 5 oiled bolts provided in your kit for the tank lid need to be torqued to the following specifications:

SAE 5

Bolt Diameter Thread per inch Torque in ft-lbs

3/8” 16 23

1/2” 13 55

5/8” 11 110

Bolts should be fastened in a star patterned for even distribution of clamping force.

IMPORTANT NOTICE ON THE USE OF DEXTRON VI TRANSMISSION FLUID

The viscosity specification for Dextron VI has changed and is not suitable for use in screw compressors. At higher temperatures, the viscosity will be lower and the bearings will fail due to loss of lubricant film. This is not covered under the warranty.

We recommend the use of Vanguard TM Premium Compressor Oil. Vanguard is a multiviscosity, highly refined, petroleum-based fluid designed to:

Allow easier cold weather starting and warm up
Provide exceptional lubrication during hot or sever service
Control fluid oxidation because its fortified with special additives
Limit fluid loss from vaporization
Minimize wear
Prevent rust and corrosion
Effectively seal rotors and keep the compressor clean
