Experience
Experience of managing a team, performance management process and CPD
Experience providing a range of recovery-orientated and evidence-based interventions to substance misusers
Experience of providing interventions that support individuals to develop their personal strengths, including Psychosocial Interventions
Experience in coproducing with experts by experience, volunteers, community
Experience of strategic partnership building and communications
Experience of producing impact reports, which are accurate and to a high standard
Knowledge
An in-depth understanding and knowledge of the harmful effects associated with drug/alcohol misuse in relation to health, social welfare, housing, employability and personal relationships.
An understanding/awareness of current national policies on substance misuse and the strategies that influence the priorities of treatment services
Knowledge of introductions to mutual aid, asset based approaches, recovery building and reaching challenged communities
Understanding of recovery, wellbeing and harm minimization principles
Knowledge of needle exchange management including governance
A knowledge and understanding of policies related to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults and how these influence practice.
An understanding of models of recovery, and the role of the community in supporting recovery.
Knowledge of National policy frameworks that underpin interventions with substance misusers
Education and Training
Relevant NVQ 4 and/or equivalent professional qualification
Excellent interpersonal skills and able to produce quality written reports
Skills and abilities
Ability to lead and motivate teams /individuals in the delivery of service objectives.
The ability to establish required systems and processes
Ability to ensure staff are performance managed, trained and developed appropriately
Ability to work across practice and agency boundaries with a developmental thrust
