Life Care Center of Pensacola receives Silver National Quality Award

PENSACOLA, Fla. (July22, 2015) –Life Care Center of Pensacola, a skilled nursing and rehab center, recently received the 2015Silver – Achievement in Quality Award from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living.

Life Care Center of Pensacola was one of only 125 organizations nationwide to receive this level of recognition this year. Implemented by AHCA/NCAL in 1996, the National Quality Award Program is centered on the criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program. The program assists providers of long-term and post-acute care services in achieving their performance excellence goals.

The program has three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Facilities begin at the Bronze level and must earn an award at each level before applying for the next. Jennifer Lindley, executive director at Life Care Center of Pensacola, shared that preparing the detailed nomination helped her to grow as a leader in looking at strategies of care from a new angle. “I think that is what makes our facility excel is the associates who work here – we use a team approach,” Lindley said. “Each discipline brings value, and put together, it creates better care for the patients we serve.”

Lindley added that the team has especially focused on pain management since many of its residents come from the hospital to recover from surgery before returning home. Associates have also put extra thought and effort into resident safety.

“Achievement of the Silver National Quality Award is a prestigious accomplishment recognized throughout the health care community, and we are very proud of the associates at Life Care Center of Pensacola for their hard work to reach this goal,” said Beecher Hunter, Life Care president. “The award is also symbolic of a highly functioning team because it takes the commitment of every associate to win it.”

“By successfully applying the rigorous standards of this program, Life CareCenter of Pensacola has achieved a significant milestone on its quality journey,” said Christine Boldt, chair of the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board of Overseers. The Award will be presented formally during AHCA/NCAL’s 66thAnnual Convention and Exposition, Oct. 4 – 7, in San Antonio, Texas.
