in regard to next year’s directors, john papadapoulos asks the question how to get new qualified board members. since the board will be loosing dave carroll and the uncertainty of tom jenkins being able to serve, leaves the class with the following options as to new directors (officers):

  1. past officers would be a source
  2. most concern is with the president and vice president
  3. john requests board members for feedback as to whom they feel would be qualified.

ccr report: vice president, tom jenkins states that everything is still going smoothly for the ccr’s at mbyc. roger PATTERSON REPORTS that there will be a class reunion august 10, 2003 with a social meeting at 4:30. eric kownacki suggests informal meeting with winners of each race. in regard to the junior championship, most lido owners do not want to loan their boats, due to the risk of damage. ERIC KOWNACKI moves to have the junior races after the senior ccr series beginning 2004. motion seconded and passed unanamiously.

chief measurers report: eric kowanaki points out there are MANY SAIL stamps missing. eric moves to make 6 stamps to be provided to sailmakers. seconded by tom jenkins and passed unamiously. eric also suggests that all fleet measurers should be using the same measurement tools. dave states he has new tools for $10 each. the max for a new fleet would not exceed $75. tools would include the following:

  1. 1 1/8 centerboard slot
  2. rudder/ centerboard tool
  3. sail stamp

eric will create a master list of fleet measurers to be provided with tools. eric kownacki moves that each fleet measurer will be provided a set of tools with a cost not to exceed $75, WHICH will be paid by the class. motion seconded and passed unamiously.

treasurers report: jeanne smith detailed the income and expense from september 1, 2002 through february 25, 2003, WHICH shows the ending bank balance to be $9,927.84. she estimates that the april bowwave will be $345 and states that the summer bowwave last year had a net cost of $210. jeanne was also provided a final billing for the YEARBOOK, WHICH amounts to $1,323.

credit card payments could be processed by using paypal which would cost the class a 2% tramsaction fee. per the santana 20 fleet, who is using paypal, A separate website needs to be set up to process the payments. john gresham will work on this.

chris collins, bowwave editor reports that he has submitted files to john papadopoulos to be submitted to his printer for publication. chris suggests perhaps using a different PRINTER, WHICH would be closer to his office and would make the bowwave production more efficient. tom jenkins moves that chris collins will now have full contol of the production of the bowwave including changing printers. motion seconded and passed unaminiously.

president’s report: dave reports that he has written to several yacht clubs and individuals in attempt to recover the roy woolsey perpetual trophy for the first junior under fifteen years old. reponses are pending.

since the class has dropped the “ international” from our name, new logos and letterhead needs to be created. eric kownacki suggests that we use up the old stationery.
