Building Security Coordinator Award program – Maggie Farrell
· This past year, the BSC program developed a series of training and information sessions for BSC responsibilities
· The program provides an opportunity for a one-time award funded by the VPs
· The program was not clearly defined nor communicated but a number of folks from across the university participated
· Discussion regarding eligibility for library employees who completed the training
· Maggie and Teri will follow-up for clarification should the program continue
Business Continuity Plan – Teri Alexander
· A new planning software or central knowledge bank is being created for the university
· The software will walk departments/units through questions and issues for dealing with emergencies or situations
· If an emergency occurred, would/how would the business of the Libraries continue?
· Teri is the Libraries’ point person and will work on the plan incorporating our existing emergency planning documents
Dean’s Meeting Update – Maggie Farrell
· Instead of a focused retreat, the deans will have approximately 8 half day sessions during the summer for various topics and issues
· Deans’ Retreats upcoming
o Topics to discuss include faculty compensation, annual review, TPR, research, space

· Vacant mailroom position (formerly held by Jamal W.) to be discussed
· Judy Pruitt’s Library Specialist position to be refilled as is
· Phyllis Gleaton’s Library Specialist position to be discussed
Update on searches – Kristy Snider
· Library Specialist (TSCM-formerly held by Melanie Cline who transferred positions) is in the interview process
· Library Diversity Fellow/Lecturer – currently 18 applicants in Interfolio
South Carolina GIS Information Council Membership Funding Proposal – Chris Vinson
· Proposal approved
· Funding source to be determined
Metadata Summit Proposal – Chris Vinson
· To bring together different teams across the Libraries to foster discussion about current practices, responsibilities, and challenges.
· Proposal for summer 2017 approved
· Chris Vinson to be lead facilitator
· Suggestion made to develop deliverables and action items
