Lew’s® Troll Tech™rods designed by Wally Marshall™ for crappie trolling

Longtime crappie guru Wally Marshall has literally spent years and years refining the actions and backbone found in his brand new Signature Series Troll Tech™ crappie rods by Lew’s® that are designed specifically for tight line trolling with heavy baits, long lining, pulling crankbaits or simply focusing on giant slabs. The stiffer-than-normal action of these rods also make them a great choice when dipping heavy cover where there’s a need to lift fish up and out in a hurry.

The beautiful emerald green blanks symbolic to this rod series are premium IM6 graphite for the ultimate blend of performance, strength and sensitivity. Reel seats are lightweight graphite and receive either spinning or baitcast reels. Hard aluminum oxide rod guides provide smooth line flow from reel to tip, even under a heavy load.

Rod handles are EVA foam for angler comfort and a perfect fit into almost every kind of rod holder. The handles are custom designed to match the medium-heavy power actions of the Troll Tech rods. The rods are rated for lures weighing between ¼-ounce and one ounce, but Marshall said he has found they perform well with weights up to two ounces and while trolling up to two miles per hour.

There are five models in the Troll Tech rod series, coming in 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18-feet lengths. The 10- and 12-footers are two-piece rods, whereas the longer versions are three pieces. All models are rated for 10-25 pound test line. The different lengths are per Marshall’s specifications so spider riggers can equip their boats with all rods from within the same series for maximum efficiency and performance.
